About

Practical financial education for real decisions

Custo Real Brasil was created to help people turn scattered costs into simple, useful and easy-to-review estimates.

What the project does

We bring together calculators and guides for common situations in Brazil: living alone, owning a car, selling on marketplaces, pricing custom products, simulating fixed-income returns and organizing fixed costs. The idea is to show the number that often stays hidden behind small expenses.

How to interpret results

The tools work with estimates. They help compare scenarios and see which variables weigh more, but they do not replace personalized financial, accounting, tax or legal advice.

How topics are chosen

We prioritize topics that affect real decisions: housing costs, cars, debt, emergency funds, fixed income, pricing and small businesses. Each page should help the reader move from a generic doubt to a more concrete calculation.

Who produces the content

Articles are signed by the Custo Real Brasil editorial team, which researches sources, structures examples, maintains formulas and reviews publication across the site's three languages. We use an institutional byline because the work combines writing, data and tool development; we do not assign undeclared professional credentials to an individual.

The team's focus is financial education for everyday life in Brazil, especially cost of living, budgeting, inflation and scenario comparison. The site does not present the team as a financial advisory firm and does not promise an individual answer for credit, investment, relocation or business decisions.

How a page is produced

  1. We define the practical question and the decision the page should help with.
  2. We locate the closest public or institutional source and record its period, coverage and limitations.
  3. We apply documented formulas, test calculations and separate external data from our estimates.
  4. We review wording, links, headings, tables, accessibility and behavior on small and large screens.
  5. We publish the review date and update the page when its source changes materially.

What is original here

Official indexes do not belong to this site. Our contribution is the organization of cost components, open formulas, comparisons between household profiles, budget breakdowns, uncertainty ranges and tools that let readers test a different scenario. We do not reproduce an external table and call it our own calculation: the source and transformation remain visible.

How we review and correct content

We prioritize official and institutional sources, record reference dates and distinguish published data from our own estimates. Formulas and assumptions are documented on the methodology page. Confirmed corrections receive a new update date. The full criteria are described in oureditorial policy.

Editorial responsibility

Content is maintained by Custo Real Brasil. Ranking positions are not sold and advertising does not determine editorial conclusions. Questions about sources, calculations or translations can be sent through thecontact form. Our capital-city dataset can be inspected and downloaded from theopen data page.

The calculations are educational. Before taking on debt, starting a business, moving cities or investing meaningful amounts, review the data and seek professional guidance when necessary.
